Also, these boards keep cold air outside and warm air inside. It is also ideal to install rigid foam that have radiant barriers on one or either sides of the boards. Radiant barriers work by reducing heat loss during winter and heat gain during summer. The barriers come with highly reflective material that reflects radiant heat rather than absorbing it. These boards are usually installed directly on foundation walls within the basement. Masonry adhesives and fasteners are used to secure them in place. By fitting them tightly, air infiltration is prevented. Some local building codes may require using fireproof material. Gypsum board is one of the best fireproof material for covering rigid foam.
